If you would have asked me a year ago if I would be the founder of a 501c3 charitable foundation I would have laughed. Since Addison’s passing a year ago today, we’ve been able to create two Parent’s Closets in the PICU and NICU respectively. This alone has helped countless families staying unexpectedly at the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital.
Watching Addison pass has been the single hardest moment of my life. Since that moment we’ve used the as motivation to do more. To help families with simple comforts that go so far. We are in the midst of a fundraiser, COVID-19 friendly, to help raise money for Books and Art supplies. Addison loved her time being read to and making artwork with others. This joy was our motivation to support those in need, even if they don’t know it.
Today, Addison would be approaching her 12th birthday. We can’t think of a better way to honor her memory than to help families just like ours.
Please consider a small donation to support those looking from the inside out of a hospital room. It can be a lonely feeling and one that you can help change.
