We are coming up on our First Anniversary for our foundation. I can't honestly believe it has been a year. Such a crazy year, not at all what we expected. But through this crazy year we have managed to succeed with helping many other families.
We would like to introduce you to the faces behind the scenes.
Tammy Dube - President
My why
Well this should be easy for me... I started this foundation as a way to give back, while honoring our daughter Addison’s memory. Over her almost 11 years, she taught me how to be a stronger, braver person. In the past couple of years it became clear to me that we needed to find a way to give back, make things easier for families going through what we have in the past. Addison must have known this is what I wanted to do with my life, because running this organization and making a difference in other’s lives makes me incredibly happy and proud that we are honoring Addison in this way!
David Dube - Vice President
My Why
The almost 11 years of Addison’s life got harder and harder. The emotional pain I felt watching her suffer was excruciating. Once Owen was born, Tammy and I had to divide and conquer the many hospital stays with her caring for infant Owen at home and me caring for Addison. That resulted in hundreds of nights spent in the hospital, some of them unexpected. I know firsthand what it is like to feel trapped because you can’t bear the thought of leaving your hospitalized child’s bedside. I remember trying to keep family and loved ones updated on a cell phone with a dying battery. I’ve skipped meals because I couldn’t leave the room.
The Babygirl Foundation was created to help families, families just like mine. We are making small items like travel size shampoo bottles, cell phone chargers, and comfy sweatpants the comfort in a exhausted parent’s day. I’m so proud of the work we’re doing and I’m comforted by keeping Addison’s nickname and legacy alive and well. She will always be my "babygirl" - and this foundation is a result of her amazing journey and our desire to help others.
Linda Bonnar - Secretary
My why
I chose to to be a member of the Babygirl Foundation because I believe in its mission. The stress and anxiety that families are faced with when their child is in the hospital for however long, undeniably takes its toll. If the Parents Closet can help alleviate a bit of stress and anxiety so that the parents can focus on what's most important, then we are doing something right. Sometimes, it's the little things that make all the difference. I'm proud to be part of that. Not to mention that the special girl that this foundation was started in memory of, holds a piece of my heart - it helps keep her memory and mine of her very much alive, and for that I am truly grateful.
Ryan Lane - Treasurer
My Why
I was beyond honored to be selected to be a Board member for the Babygirl Foundation. My past Business & Finance experiences are leveraged to assist the organization with their financial health and treasury functions. Perhaps more important, the mission and charter are all to close to home for me and something I am thrilled to be able to play a part in as we embark to make a true difference for families in need. The Dube family and mine both had a child at Barbara Bush, ironically enough, our son Lucas occupied the same exact room/bed in the Babara Bush wing immediately following dear Addison’s stay there. I learned this from randomly becoming a coaching duo with Dave Dube as our sons, Evan and Owen landed on the same baseball team which resulted in countless synergies and has formed a great friendship for years to come. Life is precious and happens in mysterious ways, never take it for granted and always be looking to live it to the fullest and lend a hand as we can’t be certain of what tomorrow may bring.

My Why
My family knows first hand what it is like to be dealing with an unexpected hospital stay. In 2015, our 4 year old son suffered a typical childhood fall from the monkey bars at the playground. However the resulting injury was anything but typical as it resulted in internal bleeding from a ruptured kidney and required over two weeks stay at The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital. Since this time, our family has been committed to raising funds for the hospital, the patients, as well as their families. I am truly honored to be part of the Babygirl Foundation and proud of the work they are doing to ease the burden on families during an unexpected hospitalization.
